iPhone 15 Pro Confirmed To Have A Unified Volume Button And A New Style Mute Button

According to 9to5mac's sources, the iPhone 15 Pro models will get rid of the separate volume up and down button design in favor of a new button, which works both ways depending on where the user presses.

Some early rumors about the iPhone 15 Pro mentioned that this year's phone will use new solid-state buttons with haptic feedback, similar to the Home button introduced on the iPhone 7. This means the the button will have no moving parts and will rely on the pressure level to operate.

The renders have revealed a single cutout for the volume buttons, but it's unclear if Apple actually opted for a single button instead of two.

In addition, the source also said that the traditional mute switch will be replaced by a new "push-style button", which means the button will also be capacitive and users will have to press hard to bring the phone in silent.
