According to NodeFlair and Iterative's Tech Salary Report 2023, software engineers in Sinagapore earn thousands of dollars more than neighboring countries. However, there are still some other IT positions in Vietnam with higher salaries than in Singapore.
The report says tech salaries in Singapore are likely to soar by 2022 despite a sweeping wave of layoffs and slowing hiring. Software engineer salaries in Singapore are also at a record high after increasing by 7.6% on average in 2022.
In addition, QA staff has the lowest salary with SGD 2,500/month (nearly 44 million VND) for inexperienced personnel (junior). The highest salary of IT staff in Singapore is 20,800 SGD/month (about 364 million VND) of software engineer team leader.
The report also shows that software engineers in Singapore currently earn thousands of dollars more per month than their colleagues in other countries such as Indonesia, India or Vietnam. Software engineers in Vietnam have a salary of 10 - 75 million / month, depending on the number of years of experience of the personnel. However, some other IT positions in Vietnam also have slightly higher salaries than Singapore.
For example, for both inexperienced and experienced QA positions, the salary in Vietnam is higher than in Singapore. Or with a DevOps position, if you have no experience, the salary in Vietnam is 5 million VND higher than in Singapore. However, when you go to senior, the salary in Singapore is higher.
With the position of solution engineer, human resources in Vietnam have a much higher salary than in Singapore when the income of inexperienced and experienced employees reaches 120 million VND/month and 160 million VND/month, respectively.
System engineers in Vietnam initially have a lower salary, but when they become senior, their income can reach 80 million VND/month while personnel in Singapore earn nearly 70 million VND/month.
According to Adecco's report, the average salary of IT personnel in Vietnam ranges from 15-400 million VND/month. In which, UI/UX junior designer has the lowest salary of 15 million VND/month, with more experience, from 5 years or more (senior), this job can bring about a monthly income of about 70-80 million dong. The position with the highest salary is CIO - CTO with 400 million VND/month.
