Through the leaks and rumors of the past few weeks, we have already ascertained that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will receive the dynamic island. However, two other features related to the display will continue to be exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models.

Apparently, in fact, only the Pros will maintain an LPTO type display and therefore, the always-on function and ProMotion technology will only be available on the two more expensive models.

This will allow Apple to attract new users thanks to the introduction of the dynamic island on standard models but, at the same time, it will allow it to continue to differentiate the two categories of smartphones.

The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models use a low-power display backlight that supports refresh rates ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz.

The refresh rate of the display adapts to what is happening on the screen, with lower frequencies used for static content and higher frequencies reserved for games and videos, for a smoother and more responsive experience.

However, all iPhone 15 models will feature a more energy-efficient OLED display driver chip manufactured on the basis of a 28nm process, compared to 40nm in current models. The main benefit of the 28nm chip would be lower power consumption, which could help extend battery life on the iPhone 15 models.
